This topic was discussed on this board a few months ago, and someone suggested that benfotiamine, by blocking the formation of advanced glycation endproducts, was also preventing glycation of hemoglobin. The important thing to keep in mind, however, is that the whole therapeutic logic of benfotiamine is to make blood sugar levels unimportant, since the biochemic pathway by which they are causing damage is blocked by the drug.
