Has anyone bought Glucowatch selling for $300 v. previous $1000

Glucowatch, which apparently is seriously screwed, is selling their watch for $300/watch instead of $1000. Has anyone bought one of these? While it certainly seemed like it wasn't worth $1000, I am wondering if there are any comments from users on whether it is useful enough to pay $300?
