Of course -- deserved credit for discovering the structure and significance of DNA must also be extended to Rosalind Franklin -- who sadly died of ovarian cancer at age 37 -- four years before the Nobel Prize could be awarded. She is quite regrettably rarely mentioned in association with Watson and Crick for her key role in their "discovery" of DNA:
