in most cases the "THEY"
are the volunteers... in my 24 years of volunteer service to JDF - I would guess that 90 percent of my travel and conference expenses have been pick up by me... and I "ain't rich"...Plus there's a cost that cannot be computed - loss of wages and a career that was always on the back burner 'cause JDF came first... I'm not bragging, and I'm not complaining... I consider it an investment in a cure for my kids... just like most of the other JDF'ers I have been associated with over the many years of JDF involvement

well folks - it was the voice of JDF volnteers that have us on
track now... '97=4.5 mill for islter xplant, 98=12.7 mill for
islet xplant research... and 99 = 20 mill for islet research...
plus JDF was a leader in bringing to light the need for
increasiing fed $$$ to research - look at appropriations
from the mid seventies and compare to recent years...
plus plus - jdf has been able to build alliances and partnerships to influence additional $$$ to research...

I don't have a clue (hmmm - shouldn't be feeding you guys
straight lines like that)... you privacy is your business and
I guess we need to respect that... you could always pick
up a "free" email addr via the bajillion services and post anonymously - with the opportunity for offline discussions
via email....

when you attack (rather than try to steer) JDF - you do us all a diservice... people look for any excuse not to give... and when you post garbage about JDF - it just becomes an easy excuse for not supporting our efforts... JDF IS ITS VOLUNTEERS!!!!! By getting involved (assuming you're not already) you are making a difference...
