Dear Mary E.,
If anyone would be knowlegable about JDF goings ons I doubt that they would post here. Your responses are unnecessarily acidic.
Most of us already understand that JDF is not funding loads of cure research.
My brother had precisely the same feelings toward JDF that you have, and knowing him, you can take his assessment to the bank. All funds collected in his memorium went to the local animal shelter as there was far more comfort (for him ) found there as opposed to any diabetes org at that time. But he would be last person to attempt to dictate loyalties.
From what I understand you invested time, money and hope in JDF and you were disappointed. Well, that is diabetes for you. And what you say your loses are to date are not so dear as what others have endured in its grip. At least you showed your son that you (as a person) believe in getting involved when you want to see change. But this extravagance of time and energy with warpathing will not be fruitful. A positive truthful approach is best in an experience like this.
I just want my three kids cured, this is what we all want. Your perspectives are always insiteful, and you bring info to this forum that I don't see elsewhere and personally appreciate.
But if you persist with crusading against any one group as a whole, and using this forum to do so, valuable individuals (no matter what group they are with)
will refrain from sharing with us.
No, I personally do not give to JDF. But then as of late, I am heavily invested in survival. But, I probably would not give money in that direction anyway. That's mostly because, I will always be Joe's big-mouthed little sister.
