Having had type 1 diabetes for 37 years I am very tired of all the new and wonderful ways to help treat the disease. Damn the treatment,find a cure!If the public were to be educated about the deadly effects and the accompanying misery that this disease causes,possibly more could be done. The majority of all diabetics appear to be normal on the surface but most likely very few people know that it is one of the largest killers in the world, far above aids,but look how much attention that condition has gotten. Do not get me wrong,I am thankful for all the treatments and I am much healthier now than before,but it is still killing me each and every day. I believe that if the public knew what an insulin dependent diabetic had to suffer through,then possibly more dollars could be raised and the cure be found ( unless a cure is being withheld by a certain pharmaceutical company, a subject for later discussion ). I would be very interested to hear equal or contradictory comments.
