Bottom line is, these people are still taking insulin. My insulin requirements have decreased significantly (some days I would fit into their 49% less category) simply by going on the pump. The principal is simple. If I'm not hungry, I don't have to eat and my basal rate carries me until I feel like eating again. My A1C has decreased, as has my cholesterol level. I'm not saying this research isn't significant. Anyone experiencing insulin resistance could possibly benefit from this drug, but it's easy, on a pump, to reduce insulin amounts.
But taking less insulin isn't what I'm after in life. Taking NO insulin is the dream I live for. Let's hope we all get there soon.
