Unfortunately, I think Ann Landers just misplaced the blame in this incident.
Instead of placing the blame of that unfortunate accident on "uncontrolled diabetics", Ann Landers could have had a positive effect by placing the blame on *Diabetes* and pointing out that uncured, this disease victimizes our entire society.
Behavior modification is not the answer to this scurge on humanity, a cure is.
