I called and spoke to Joe LaMountain yesterday because I wanted to ask some questions. I liked the note he had posted on the Children With Diabetes website, and wanted to tell him so. We talked about several things, but he did say that getting an increase in NIH funding was the main thrust. When I asked what ADA's funding priorities were, he basically said that the funding increase was the important thing and that prioritizing would come later. He was not at the DRWG meeting, but had been briefed about it. He was complimentary to Al, knew that Robin was at the meeting and was from North Carolina, and said I should write my Congressman (Barton, who did not sign the letter to Porter) and stay connected to Al.
