Perhaps, instead of defending the posters at TIF you should ask these people directly why they are so complacent about funding CURE research. There are truth-in-lending laws and truth-in-advertising laws; how about a truth-in-charity law. If you raise money in the name of a cure, the majority of the funds raised should be used specifically for CURE research? Would they find this threatening?! Why?
Currently I'm trying to put together a one page document to get the word out about the Children's Capitol Campaign. I've asked repeatedly for information regarding research spending and what types of research is being funded. Specifically, of the 65% or so that goes to research, what percentage is devoted to CURE research. I've gotten no response. Anyone reading this that has the information, please post! I've an idea that it might not even be over 5% of the total JDF budget. I hope I'm wrong!
