Thank you Ty. I appreciate your input and you sharing your experience.

Update - I just received a call from my son's endo. His lab tests came back. They had found the presence of proteinuria in the office (dip stick test) and then sent the urine and blood off to the official lab for analysis.

The official lab was negative for albuminuria. As I understand it, the lab does a more sensitive analysis to the very protein that would be found (albumin) and found zero...though the stick "colored" for presence of protein.

The doctor was a bit baffled as to how this could happen. I asked her if she thought she could have a bad batch of sticks. She doubted it because there wasn't an issue with other patients.

Pretty confusing, but the doctor said to take him off the BP medicine, come back in 90 days and that we could probably do a 24 hour collection.
