To get more information you simply contact the persons/entities quoted in the press release as their info contact points.
The quoted European university hospitals are quite respectable institutes, so one can as test measure also contact these to get confirmation about their level of involvement. These specific universities were btw among the first to replicate the Edmonton protocol, so they are known DM sites.
That said, I agree with related posters that we should remain seriously cautious. A filing for a patent means almost nothing. And please also notice, the press release says zero about what disease it really is they claim to have 80% success rate in curing. It could be some DM related illness/side effect. Who knows. I do however doubt any MD would have joined such clinical work over 10+ years and had any level of success in curing the core DM Type1 disease without blasting it out to anyone who cared to listen. (and we are many who would care to listen to such story ;o)
