Re: LCT receives NZ$4.04 million to advance DIABECELL posted by JoeC
In this day and age it is much easier to bring pressure to bear on such organizations. I wish I had time right now, but I don't. Here's what I would do. Start a website, something like JDRF-is-a-vampire.org and state the case against JDRF. The case is simple. The primary goal of the JDRF should be to fund a cure for diabetes. We have had some discussion about what constitutes a cure, and so this would be relevant. I would list organizations that are working on a cure, so defined, and have donation information on the website. It would probably make sense to not be too partisan about which team will find a cure, e.g., Faustman, INGAP and of course LCT, but simply describe the research. Once you have the website together look up people who have written on diabetes before and see if they are interested in writing something on JDRF-is-a-vampire.org. Website are easy to build today, and you can get something for about 5 bucks a month. Most of the effort will be in a little research and willingness to put your face out to the media.
