What a battle LCT has fought over the past decades! I am not sure I would have the stamina and perseverance to keep going in the face of seemingly endless bureaucratic sabotage, alarmist fringe groups, regulatory nightmares, financing challenges, and zero support from JDRF and other "charitable" funding bodies. And yet LCT persevered and now have shown the world that encapsulated porcine islets can regulate blood glucose without adverse effects.
Millions of families with diabetes owe a huge debt to Bob Elliott, the late David Collinson, Paul Tan and the dedicated and talented staff who are all fighting to end diabetes.
