Hi Bob-
I agree with the responses to date. I would place most weight to Michael H, who is a witness. Anecdotes may not be good science, but they can be true, and they inspire.
My only additional comment is that I am coming to regard HbA1c as a false God. JP Marat over at solvingdiabetes.org has been educating me to how tenuous is the connection of glycated hemoglobin with diabetic vascular disease. I know that my clinicians pretty much ignore HbA1c when they have good BG measurements.
So my suggestion is that the end point might most usefully be vascular decline. I would suggest that the retina is the thing to watch, and in designing a clinical trial regular retinal exams would produce significant difference between a control and group treated with your existing capsules in, say, three years.
