Dr Elliott,
Cost to benefit ratio analysis is always an emotional subject when it relates to one's own health. If the product brings about only small benefit, it rather depends on how healthy the individual is in the first place. Thus, I'd suggest that a healthy T1D of 2 years would not be prepared to pay the kinds of money that a person who has 20+ years and is developing complications, even for a limited benefit.
In my case, I'm 34 and have had T1D for 22 years now. I have no complications despite not achieving the best HBA1C over the time I've been diagnosed. So I guess you can see my urgency to get treatment whilst still healthy!
So, if you can continue the trend of promising results shown in the Russian trial and bring about a commercialisation of Diabecell, the cost/benefit ratio is not significant to me, rather please name your price and location, and I'll call to book my appointment!
Kind regards,
Ty
