I like Dennis's 2-stage measure of success in restoring normoglycemia to people with type one diabetes.
The level 1 targets represent an enormous improvement in quality of life, a much greater improvement that that delivered by the accepted best treatments of other diseases. The level 2 targets represent the virtual disappearance of type one diabetes as a life-threatening and life-compromising disease.
I would find the funds and sign up tomorrow!
