I like the idea of non-profits for autoimmune diseases that are related, pooling resources if the science seems good.

I love technology and feel it's up to the public and privately held corporations to invest in the R&D and make the profits.

I want to see a bioartificial pancreas using glucose responsive cells (i.e. SPF porcine islets) to restore euglycemia; in addition to LCT's encapsulation, I'd would love to see JDRF support the research of Cherie Stabler et al. at DRI, Tejal Desai, and others who are working on a bioartificial pancreas device to house glucose responsive cells and provide an oxygen rich environment etc.to restore normoglcyemia even if it's not a "cure" per se.

I appreciate JDRF's transparency so people can make informed decisions about where they want their charitable contributions to be directed.
