we're covered too, pen/syringes doesn't make any diference to him. We loved the comfort of not having set hours for eating (though mostly we keep them everyday). Ultimately is his numbers/comfort/quality of life that will dictate where we're going.
Lantus didn't cover him entirely also but it's interesting that Levemir worked in one daily shot for you (my doctor suggested 2 doses)
