I am thinking LCT should not care if 100,000K comes from one pacient @100K per treatment or from 10 pacients @ 10K per treatment as long as the margins or whatever they call it remain the same and LCT can continue its development. If this is correct, maybe cheaper islets could be one answer. Not an easy and not the only answer..

In the end we all want (to keep the analogy Mercedes-Ford) this treatment to be available to any 10$/hour diabetes type 1 employee that works on LCT's farms and this will happen it's just a matter of time.

As to dispair and horror, some may have more time then others..this is a sad reality...

In November 1921 insulin was first extracted (impure). In April 1922 Eli Lilly already figured out how to produce large quantities, highly purified. And this was so last century...
