Dear Honourable Members of the New Zealand Cabinet,
My name is Daniel O'Keefe and I'm a Type One diabetic living in the United States. I'm writing this letter to ask that you give your approval regarding LCT's proposed clinical trials in New Zealand. I have been living with Diabetes for 44 years now and have struggled on a daily basis to live something approaching a normal life. I now have heart disease and Polyneuropathy from diabetes and am functionally disabled. I have consistently told myself that all the difficulty and struggle I've experienced in living with DIabetes, with or without it's resultant complications, will be ameliorated should I be fortunate enough to live to see a cure for this horrendous disease. I believe the direction LCT has taken in this regard holds the promise of my dream possibly coming true. Ministers and Dignitaries, you hold in your hands the promise of a miracle coming true for so many of us and I humbly plead with you to make that rightful decision. At this point, my life is effectively in your hands.
