Sorry, before everyone thinks I'm a jackass, my parents *are* idiots. My mom almost died having me simply because she wanted a child but was told she couldn't carry one. I was put at a very high risk for birth defects and was born 2 months early. I also developed Type 1 at age 2 (i.e. HIGH genetic risk). My mother has pretty much been on her deathbed for most of my life (blind, in a wheelchair from severe neuropathy, 3 heart attacks plus open-heart surgery, etc.) and has never been able to support me. Now, I am too sick to support myself properly (I am extremely lucky my job pays enough that I can live somewhat working part-time)and I have a sick parent who can't help me because she can't support *herself*.

Now you know!

You have no family history, so how could my situation be an issue for you? My point was that my mom DID have a family history. My parents even *admit* they were wrong.
