What I need is a new body. Specifically, a new immune system and/or beta cells. I never said this is a healthy attitude, but a realistic one considering I don't have a healthy BODY. My point was that I DON'T have the chance of a happy and healthy future simply because my parents failed to consider that I would develop Type 1 and every other disease genetically related to it due to family history. I'm sorry to say it, but popping a pill or counselling will unfortunately not regenerate my failing body nor change circumstances.
I understand some people are not affected by type 1 in such a severe way as myself, but that is why this whole time I have said that people simply should make intelligent choices, and consider the CHILD and not just what their desire to reproduce. Unless a cure is found, there IS no hope for me, as my body is constantly seeking out new targets to destroy.
Besides, this thread is getting retarded. You asked for people's opinions and then go on to tell me my opinion is wrong because you disagree with it? I said that people with Type 1 should take the time to consider the impact of having a child who may inherit the disease, simply because the risk is so much greater than normal. THAT is logical. You telling me that I need "professional help" because I have that viewpoint is NOT.
I just want a cure like everyone else on this board. So let's end this topic, and get back to the other important issues. If there is anyone who HAS passed on Type 1 to their children OR received it from their parent(s), I would love to hear your honest feelings. If everyone is truly happy, then we can wrap up this thread, because we will never agree.
