M'dear, it boils down to choice. Not the choice to "risk" breeding or not, it's a choice as to how best approach life. With fear, frustration, and foreboding or joy, acceptance, and hope.
Trust me. I have to make that choice every morning.
As for finding a good mate: I've found that the best people will be attracted to happy, confident folks (who find *some* way to be useful) even if they aren't perfectly healthy. Hell, I once knew a young woman who was paralyzed from the waste down, but she was pretty, happy, intelligent, and pleasant. And she was beating 'em off with a stick. (I didn't do so bad "in my day" either!)
