I would also like to thank the person who answered my post. I reread the Mathis/Benoust letter trashing Faustman's research and then the posted answer. It is scary how just NOT telling the reader certain facts can paint a very different picture of a story.
If Faustman is successful, then Drs. Mathis and Benoust are going to look pretty bad, and should make a public appology to Faustman (as should JDRF).
By the way, the spokesman for JDRF said that other diseases have not found cures yet either, suggesting that cures are very hard to find. I agree, however, it could also indicate that all the research community follows the same "get funding and keep the money flowing" mentality. I sure hope not.
