I used to take Niacin tablets thinking it would flush out a headache. It didn't get rid of the headache but there was a definite flush going on. It felt like I was wearing a full-body hairshirt and that blood was about to shoot out of my tear ducts. The last word I heard on the use of Niacin, and why I stopped taking it, was that it can overtax your liver because of the elevated blood flow.
